Both involve the feet, but the approach, intent, and effect are very different
Foot Massage
Focuses directly on the feet. Kneading, rubbing, and pressure relax the muscles and soft tissue, relieving tension in tired or aching feet.
The main focus: the feet themselves
Reflexology
Uses the feet as a map. Specific reflex points correspond to organs, glands, and systems throughout the body – worked without touching those areas directly.
The main focus: the whole body
The Feet as a Map of the Body
Different areas of the feet are associated with different parts of the body. During a session, I work systematically through this map using specific thumb and finger techniques - adapting to what each individual needs.
A Whole Body Treatment Through the Feet
One of the fascinating aspects of reflexology is that you do not need to be touched all over your body to receive a whole-body reflexology treatment.
Your feet provide the areas on which the reflexologist works, while the treatment is directed toward corresponding areas of the body according to the reflexology map.
The treatment is adapted to each individual, and different reflex areas may receive more attention depending on what is discussed during the session and what is found during the treatment.
If you have never experienced reflexology before, I invite you to discover the difference for yourself!
“Reflexology is more than a foot massage. It is a complementary therapy that uses the feet as a way of working with the whole body.”
